Alginate Impression Material
A fast setting alginate impression material that is used to produce facial molds, dental and gum impressions. This fast setting material uses water as a base and when applied to a facial area or bite block, will produce an impression within 1–2 minutes.

Silky Rock
This material is used to produce solid patient facial molds post alginate impression material. Silky Rock powder, when mixed with regular tap water, forms a “rock-like” solid mold.
After hardening of the mold, thin sheets of lead can be placed onto the section/treatment interest with a small hammer, and contoured into the shape needed. Small rounded end instruments(s) can shape the smaller contoured areas such as the nose/eye.
Small wooden dowels are sometimes used for this purpose by simply sanding the ends to a convex shape.
